Overheard at our house . . .

Setting: Breakfast.  We are talking about our budget and the boys want to know why we haven't finished paying for our house . . .
Me: "Kids are expensive!"
Nathan: "No, they aren't they are just handy."
Jonathan: "What do you mean?"
Nathan: "'Cause parents are bossy and just tell them to clean up all the time."

Jonathan and I couldn't stifle our laughter . . . :) Then . . .

Jaron: "Mom, you should put that on your facebook (he means blog--where has he heard "facebook"?)".
Jaron: "What's a catepiller?"
Us: "an insect that turns into a butterfly."
Jaron: "No, a worm wearing a fuzzy sweater! That's funny.  Put that on your computer too!"

And not to leave Carson out . . .
Remember my previous post about naptime?  The other day I was so tired I tried to skip the tickle part.
Me: "Carson--can you hand me your book, please?"
Carson: "I can't."
Me: "Why not buddy?"
Carson: "'Cause you not tickle me harder, harder yet!"

A few days later, it was Carson who was overly exhausted.
Carson: Puts his head on the pillow and sighs . . . "mom, just tickle me a tiny bit, kay?"
I tickle his tummy supper lightly--for just a second.
Carson: "Dat's nough, mom.  I super tired."

Kids aren't just handy . . . they are great live-in entertainment too!
